Coronation Street panics as Damon’s missing money is found

Coronation StreetDavid Platt and Jesse Chadwick worry next week as their secret about Damon Hay’s money comes back to haunt them.

David and Jesse are currently keeping quiet about the truth about what happened to Damon’s secret stash of money.

Imprisoned criminal Damon had stored dirty money in a cell after his involvement in an armed robbery organized by his dangerous brother Harvey Gaskell.

The bad boy tipped off his ex-lover Sarah Barlow so she could pay her daughter Bethany’s medical bills, but the money mysteriously disappeared before Sarah could get her hands on it.

It was later revealed that Sarah’s brother David Platt had the money in his possession, but his surprising deception was quickly discovered by Gail’s new partner Jesse.

David considered returning the money to the box, but then changed his mind. He was relieved when Jesse agreed to keep quiet while he thought about his next move.

In scenes set to air next month, Jesse happily looks to the future with Gail and they bring the Platt family together for a big announcement.

The heartfelt moment is interrupted when Sarah’s son Harry suddenly emerges with a handful of money.

David and Jesse try to hide their panic, both wondering how they’re going to explain how to get out of this. Will the rest of the Platts be suspicious of where the money is coming from?

Platt’s latest drama is just the start of a busy time for the family, who will take center stage this Christmas as Gail leaves the streets.

Coronation StreetKate Brooks’ new producer recently told us: “The secrets come to the forefront on Christmas Day. Basically, you have Gail, who is going to leave the streets, but as Christmas approaches she has discovered that some of her loved ones and my dear absolutely betrayed her.

“She doesn’t know who to believe. Even her dear old mother kind of lied to her and she’s really struggling with that. She thinks, ‘I don’t know if I want that. I don’t know if I want to be with Jesse.

“She thinks and questions everything and every decision she’s made. Obviously Gail has had a very colorful past, so that’s a big part of this Christmas Day episode, but she’s here and she will leave the street and it will be so wonderful and so sad.

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday December 11 on ITV1 and ITVX.
