‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Had a ‘Nervous Breakdown’ After Christmas Tree Problem

Grey’s Anatomy Actress Camilla Luddington recently revealed that she becomes so “fierce” about choosing a Christmas tree every year that she has to abandon the tradition.

Luddington called it a “nervous breakdown” while choosing the perfect tree for the holidays and talked about the stress it brings on the Nov. 25 edition of his podcast, Call it what it is, which she co-hosts with her former Grey’s Anatomy co-star Jessica Capshaw.

“I’m fierce about buying a tree. I like a very specific shape, a very specific needle,” she began. “I smell, I touch, I whisper to it like crazy. Choosing a Christmas tree from a field of Christmas trees is a military operation.”

She added that she asked her husband, actor Matthew Alan, to move the tree so she could see it from all angles.

“So, honestly, it was so stressful for me that I ordered a (fake) tree and now I’m not stressed anymore,” Luddington admitted.

The actress described how “this bad boy is sitting in our very cozy garage,” adding: “I would literally be on the floor like I had a nervous breakdown… So now I have a fake tree that’s Magnificent.”

Capshaw admitted that she may have once had a problem with someone having a fake tree in their house, but that was no longer the case because “present-day Jessica has moved on.”

“Current Jessica would say, ‘I think it’s really great, because you’re not killing a tree,'” she said on the podcast.

Luddington experienced a series of stressful misfortunes over the holidays and revealed in the same episode that she gave her friends food poisoning over Thanksgiving.

The actress, who plays Dr. Josephine “Jo” Wilson on the ABC medical series, explained that she didn’t grow up with Thanksgiving and its traditions since she was born in the United Kingdom. As a result, she didn’t realize how long it took the traditional turkey to roast in the oven.

“I didn’t grow up with it. So, I was just able to inherit all the Friendsgiving traditions that surround me. And I love cooking turkey. I say ‘cook,’ but really, I I get the one that’s precooked because you just put that bad boy in there. You can’t go wrong,” she said.

“It was like 10 p.m., I’m not even kidding; it was so late. I was like, ‘Okay, I’m taking it out. It is what it is. Whatever was cooked is cooked and we’re all I’m going to eat it,'” Luddington said. “And I honestly thought there was no chance of people getting sick.”

She added: “That year I gave food poisoning to everyone who ate turkey. I’m not kidding. I’ve never given anyone food poisoning before, but people were throwing up that that night.”

Camilla Luddington is seen on April 2, 2023 in Hollywood, California. The “Grey’s Anatomy” actress recently revealed that she gets so “fierce” about choosing a Christmas tree every year that she has to give…
